Julie Butters is the author of Pocket Prayers for Young Professionals (Twenty-Third Publications) under the name Julie Rattey. She studied novel-writing under author Corey Ann Haydu and completed the GrubStreet Novel Generator program under author Annie Hartnett. She is writing her first young adult novel.
Julie adapted Jane Eyre into a stage play that was produced as a Zoom film by Connecticut’s Flock Theatre in 2020; she also played the role of adult Jane. Julie previously adapted Little Women for live performance by Flock in 2011 and 2012 at the historic Shaw Mansion in New London.

A former senior editor/writer at Boston University and the former managing editor of Catholic Digest magazine, Julie has traveled globally for feature articles and interviewed celebrities including actor Oscar Isaac and then-presidential candidate Barack Obama. She has written about subjects including Catholic sites in Croatia and the impact of global warming on Antarctica.
